A list of christian holidays are given below.

1) Good Friday

Good Friday is a very important festival of Christians. It is celebrated traditionally as the day Jesus Christ was crucified. It is a Christian's religious holiday and celebrated on Friday immediately before Easter Sunday. It is also known as great Friday, holy Friday, black Friday etc. Most of the Christians spend this day in fasting, praying, meditation on the agony and suffering of Christ on the cross.

2) Easter

Easter is a festival of Christian. It is celebrated on Sunday immediate after Good Friday. It is a festival of Prophet Jesus resurrection after crucifixion. Christian believe that Jesus come back to life three days after his death on cross. Easter is one of the oldest Christian holiday and most important day of the church day. Orthodox Christians use Julian calendar to calculate the Easter and celebrate the holiday one week or two after the western churches. Western churches follow Gregorian calendar.

3) Christmas

Christmas is an annual festival of Christians. It is celebrated in the honor of Jesus Christ birthday. It is celebrated every year on 25 December. Christmas is celebrated with a great enthusiasm. People decorate their houses and gardens with lights, Christmas tree and much more. They attend church, spend time with family members, wear new clothes and eat a festive meal. Stores and Malls are also decorated with Christmas tree and other lightening accessories.

4) Lent

Lent is a Christian festival. It is a season of preparation before Easter. It starts 40 days prior to Easter (Sundays are not included in the count). Most of the Christians start fasting, moderation, and spiritual discipline at the starting of the Lent. The season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday. A Christian clergyman imposes ashes on the forehead of members of United State navy.

5) Halloween

Halloween is a festival of Christians which is celebrated on 31 October. It is generally celebrated amongst family, friends and sometimes with co-workers. Adults celebrate it by watching horror movies, arranging costumes parties, or creating haunting houses. Children wear fancy dresses and costumes and visit their neighbor's homes. This festival is dedicated to remembering the dead including saints, martyrs, and others departed souls.
