What is the full form of MBBS

MBBS: Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery

(Medicinae Baccalaureus, Baccalaureus Chirurgiae in Latin)

Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery are the two first professional undergraduate medical degree. It is awarded by medical schools and universities in medical and surgery. As the name suggest they are two separate degree however, in practice they are treated as one and awarded together. The time duration of MBBS course is five or six years.

There are some other abbreviation used for MBBS in different countries like MBChB, MB BChir, MB BCh, MBChB, MB BS etc.
